Dr. Bob Goodall, Chief Medical Officer, Premier Medical Group
After graduating from Birmingham in 1979 Bob gained post-graduate diplomas in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Anaesthetics working in Midland hospitals. He then worked as a principal in a rural Shropshire General Practice combined with a hospital practitioner position in Anaesthetics and Medical Officer for a community hospital.
Bob has a longstanding interest in musculoskeletal disorders. He began freelance medico legal work in the early 90’s and was an original member of the embryonic Premier Medical. He became Medical Adviser to Premier Medical upon its formation and was appointed Premier’s Chief Medical Officer in 2002 responsible for recruitment, retention, training, quality control, clinical governance and mentoring of the medical expert network and is currently CMO for the Premier Medical Group heading a team to continue that role. He has been a member of the executive management team of the company since 2002 and has led the expert network through many changes especially the revolutionary information technology developments over the years.
Bob is a team player and shares the strategic vision of the management team to provide innovative cost effective solutions for customers whilst maintaining the quality and independence of the medical expert as a core ethos. He has been a member of the Expert Witness Institute since 2004 and in 2008 was appointed a Fellow and has published in their journal. He lectures regularly to lawyers and doctors on matters medicolegal.
Bob is married to Sherryl, a Colposcopist and Midwife and lives in rural Shropshire. They have two daughters, one a junior hospital doctor and the younger working in business. He is interested in many sports in particular skiing and golf and is permanently frustrated at not improving at either. Other interests include history, philosophy and cosmology.
