About Premier
The Premier Medical Group was created in February 2008 following the Nomura backed merger of Premier Medical Limited and Medico-Legal Reporting. The resulting business is thus the largest provider of medical opinion in the UK.
Premier Medical was established in the 1990s. Based in Ludlow, with around 120 staff, and a wide portfolio of insurers and solicitors, Premier Medical has consistently been at the forefront of market developments in the sector. Likewise Medico-Legal Reporting was established at around the same time, is of a not dissimilar size, and is based in Pangbourne. Nomura is a Japanese investment bank with strong links in the global healthcare investment market.
The merger brings significant opportunities for the new team to deliver even higher qualities of service on a national basis within the UK, while seeking to expand into new markets with new and enhanced services. This combination of medical expertise, streamlined service delivery and increased capacity will benefit both the insurance and legal sectors.
The new enterprise combines the best of both previous businesses, drawing on medical, management and technical expertise and experience from both Pangbourne and Ludlow. Premier Medical Group will continue to operate from both locations for the foreseeable future.
Premier Medical Group expects to deliver 115,000 medical reports and turn over in excess of £35 million during its first year of trading, giving a market share estimated to be in the region of 15%.
