Carpal/Carpus

Carpus is the name given to the small pavement of bones between the bones of the forearm and the bones of the digits. It is mildly curved and the nerves and tendons of the hand cross over it. Any compression of this passage can lead to ‚ (Carpal tunnel Syndrome‚) a compression of the Median nerve at the wrist. Other less common vessel and nerve compressions can occur some of which also have eponyms.
