DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)

An abnormal blood clot in the leg that starts in the calf and can spread to the thigh and pelvis.

Pieces can break off (EMBOLI) that will lodge in distant organs (usually the lungs) and can prove fatal or cause significant problems.
