The deliberate pretending of symptoms or exaggerating illness or incapacityor advantage. Munchausens Syndrome is a personality disorder in which the patient describes dramatic but false symptoms or simulates acute illness, happily undergoing numerous investigations and examinations and upon discovery of the real cause will often leave without notice and move on to another hospital.
