Bishop Trevor Huddleston was educated at Lancing College, on the 22nd of May 2007 Archbishop Desmond Tutu led a service to dedicate a window in memory of his old friend.

Desmond Tutu was welcomed to the school by Headmaster Jonathan Gillespie and the school governors which included Dr. Harry Brunjes, Chairman of PMG.
Desmond Tutu spoke with almost unsettling clarity and purpose; his words were filled with grace, kindness, humour; and in an age where ‘big occasions’ can be anaesthetised with bland and anodyne pc sentiments, he was graphic and hard hitting on the subject of apartheid.
