EWI Annual Conference 2009
The Expert Witness Institute Conference is now firmly established as the most significant gathering of expert opinion from all professions.
The Annual Conference has become a regular feature at Church House, Westminster, and now attracts high-profile speakers from the world of politics, journalism, expert opinion, medicine, surveyors, architects, law and judiciary.
Jonathan Gillespie, Head Master of Lancing College, is one of the new generation of school leaders and shared his views on educational expertise. Tom Craig is a former senior detective with the Metropolitan Police Fraud Squad, based in New Scotland Yard, with specialist knowledge on the impact of the latest anti-laundering money rules and the impact on business.
Graham Gibson is Claims Director of Allianz and also a member of the Civil Justice Council and gave his understanding of the role and responsibilities of expert opinion. Jason Powell, CEO of PMG and Nick Addyman, Parabis Law presented on the advance of IT into the provision of expert opinion.
As requested, the Institute proudly invited Paul Bowden back to the conference, a senior solicitor at Freshfields, who updated the Institute on expert fees and true independence. The popular Question Time was chaired by Dr Harry Brünjes, and as always James Badenoch, Chairman of EWI gave an update on the Institutes activities.
