The inaugural I Love Claims New Year Luncheon held last Friday, 21 January, at the London Marriott Hotel in association with ABP Club, was attended by over 370 insurers, claims providers and repairers. The informal event began with a Champagne drinks reception supported by event sponsor RSA.
Dr. Brunjes, Chairman of Premier Medical Group, played talk show host to Top Gear’s James May, who topped the bill and gave some candid opinions on working with his co-presenters. He spoke of got the job and his views on why he didn’t understand why electric cars are seen as the future when they take 8 hours to charge and only have a 50-60 mile range. He sees hydrogen as a better solution. He also spoke about how fame has changed his life and memorable encounters with the public including one man who said “I’m a big fan of yours, can you sign this book?” and it turned out to be The World according to Jeremy Clarkson.
James also mentioned the launch of his new book ‘How to land an A380 airbus and other skills for the modern man’. He said it was factually correct and had gone through airbus and other channels for verification. “You don’t have to read to read it, just buy it,” said James. Afterwards he spent time answering questions from the audience before rushing off to film the next Top Gear. Networking continued throughout the day and afterwards at an exclusive party, courtesy of Acorn Vehicle Solutions, held at the fashionable Aura nightclub.
Chris Ashworth, Managing Director, Crashworth who began the I Love Claims forum and initiative said that he was staggered by the response to the event which grew beyond his initial expectations.
“When we set out to produce this event we had aspirations of gathering around 200 key people from the industry but to get a full house of over 370 people representing most of the major insurers and suppliers of claims services has been fantastic and has set the bar for our next event firmly establishing I Love Claims as the industry’s number one networking forum. Based on the feedback to date I am sure we will be able to continue to grow from strength to strength for the benefit of everyone involved.”
Membership to I Love Claims is free and provides a forum for those involved in the claims process with the aim to improve communication, reduce costs and improve customer experience. The 2nd I love Claims annual motor conference, in partnership with ABP Club, takes place on 8th June at the Barceló Hotel in Daventry. The delegate rate is £190 plus VAT with a discount provided for ABP Club members. There is also a Free I-Pad special offer for all delegates (see small print!).
