Premier launches major recruitment drive

21 st April 2008 – Premier Medical Group, t he UK ’s largest provider of medical opinion, has today launched a major recruitment drive aimed at attracting more recently-qualified General Practitioners (GPs) into medico-legal reporting work as a component of a portfolio career.
The move to recruit new GPs follows in the wake of the recent merger between Premier Medical and Medico-Legal Reporting, two of the market’s leading providers. It is designed to grow its database of experts across all medical faculties and significantly expand the company’s capacity to provide medical opinion [on injuries] to insurers and solicitors.
Premier Medical Group’s recruitment drive, which is being supported by a full marketing and advertising campaign, is aimed at newly-qualified GPs across England , Scotland and Wales . The Group offers guarantees on the volume of work provided, together with training and mentoring from senior practitioners with experience of medico-legal evidence work.
Commenting on the launch of the campaign, Group Medical Director, Dr Bob Goodall, said: “Newly-qualified General Practitioners are facing an increasingly hard struggle to build rewarding and profitable roles and the development of a portfolio career is a byproduct of this. Historically medicolegal work has been fragmented and difficult to enter. PMG has the size, experience and support to facilitate younger doctors into this career option.
Medico-legal work offers both financial and experience benefits that cannot be gained from a sole NHS or private medical career. We are looking for GPs who recognise that the market is increasingly dictating the way services are delivered and want to operate in different and innovative ways to gain the rewards.”
Commenting on the benefits available to GPs, Dr Harry Brünjes, Chairman of Premier Medical Group, added: “As medical professionals we recognize the need to ensure our GPs are fully supported and this is at the heart of the campaign to recruit new GPs. Our size and financial stability means we are able to offer guaranteed volumes of work but, perhaps more importantly to GPs, considerable security over payment of their fees.”
This year, the company expects to deliver 113,000 medical reports and in future plans to extend its products to include other areas of primary care including; private GP consultations, rehabilitation, wellness and occupational health services.
