Premier Medical Group supports new youth choir in Ludlow
27th January 2009 – Ludlow-based Premier Medical Group, the UK ’s largest provider of medical opinion, has agreed to be the main sponsor for the town’s new youth choir, Ludlow New Voices, part of the Ludlow Choral Society. The sponsorship deal is worth £5,000 over the next three years.

Premier Medical Group which employs nearly 150 staff based on the Ludlow Eco Business Park, has become the first corporate sponsor of the choir for young people aged 9 and upwards. Ludlow New Voices has been set up earlier this year by Ludlow Choral Society to celebrate its 150th anniversary. The Society offers fresh musical and social opportunities for children in the area and adds to the cultural life of the town. Dr Harry Brünjes, Chairman of the Premier Medical Group, said : “As a former professional musician myself, I am delighted that Premier Medical is the main sponsor of Ludlow New Voices. We have been part of the town for many years and want to share some of our success with those who will shape its future. Helping young people to experience the joy of music and singing will, we believe, make Ludlow an even more a vibrant and exciting place for all generations.”
Hugh Wood, spokesman for Ludlow New Voices, welcomed the involvement of the company. He said: “We are attempting to create a choir of the highest standard but which is easily accessible to all young people, whatever their social, economic and geographical situation so their support is important to us.”
In August, Premier Medical Group’s Chief Executive Officer Jason Powell announced that the company would be creating 40 new jobs by the end of the year and an additional 100 staff would be needed by 2012. The move is part of a major expansion of its services at its base at Ludlow Eco Park .
