Premier to administer medical experts panel

20th August 2008 – Premier Medical Group (Premier), the UK ’s largest provider of medical opinion, has today been appointed as the sole administrator of the approved list of medical experts for the South Wales Medical Experts Accord, a panel of specialist personal injury solicitors in the region, and believed to be the only one of its kind in the UK .
20th August 2008 – Premier Medical Group (Premier), the UK ’s largest provider of medical opinion, has today been appointed as the sole administrator of the approved list of medical experts for the South Wales Medical Experts Accord, a panel of specialist personal injury solicitors in the region, and believed to be the only one of its kind in the UK.
Premier will be responsible for the overall administration of the 80-strong database of medical experts developed by the Accord to help local lawyers identify suitable medical experts for injury cases. Premier’s role will include the day-to-day administration of the database with a focus on performance management including specific requirements on the quality and turnaround times on reports. Premier will also provide access to additional experts from its own extensive network in Wales and regular updating and amending as required. The Accord panel will continue to approve new medical experts added to the list against its strict operating criteria.
The Accord was established in response to Lord Woolf’s Access to Justice Report in the late nineties, which included the concept of single medical experts in personal injury claims. The objective was to minimise areas of disagreement and so reduce cost and delay.
