Investigations: MRI
An MRI scanner creates a detailed internal image using a powerful magnet with computerised analysis of signals from the tissues to build up a picture of the tissues, organs and bones to assist the doctor to make a diagnosis. It is considered to be safer than using x-rays.
Soft tissue injury lies behind the majority of chronic accident cases. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans show muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, nerves etc, as well as bones - and thereby give the 'inside story' in a different perspective to X-rays.
We have national arrangements in place to provide MRI scans at the most competitive prices and are able to offering the following turnaround times on cases referred with all relevant consents and instruction detail:
- Instruction to appointment date – 12 working days (subject to claimants availability).
- Appointment date to report sent date – 15 working days.
We can also facilitate a host of other diagnostics requirements including x-rays and ultrasounds.
